The problem with wanting to emulate something from sometime/somewhere else, being that it often ends up that you produce something divorced from your own time and place, where if the thing you are emulating was not divorced from its environs as such, any attempt at emulating it will fail because the emulation is not one of principles or attitudes, just of style: Symbols not logic.
